Meet our new Shelter Manager, Kendra McCartle
From overnight shifts to leading the entire shelter team, Kendra McCartle’s journey at Housing Transitions is a true example of dedication, compassion, and growth. Kendra first joined Housing Transitions in 2016 as a member of our night staff. In 2023, she stepped into the role of Night Staff Supervisor, and in September 2025, she joined our day staff team full time. In May 2026, Kendra reached a career goal she had been working toward for years when she was promoted to Shelt


Creating Calm and Comfort: New Calming Spaces at Housing Transitions
Thanks to a generous grant from the Head Start Collaboration Office, Housing Transitions has created two beautiful new Calming Spaces for children staying in our emergency shelter. Our shelter includes two family suites, each designed to provide privacy and comfort for families experiencing a housing crisis. For a child, homelessness can be confusing and frightening. At Housing Transitions, we believe every child deserves a place where they can still laugh, build pillow forts, and simply be a kid, even while their parents are working hard to find stable ground again.
